Kayamandi Jewelry

The jewelry presented on this page is made by single mothers in Kayamandi. Kayamandi is a village close to Cape Town, outside of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Kayamandi is the most beautiful part of Stellenbosch. It rests on top of a hill overlooking the city of Stellenbosch. On the other side of Kayamandi, is an expanse of mountains and wine country.

The village is in a very poor township of about 6000 people, with one central water source, and most people living in shacks built using tar, paper, with a tin roof. Kayamandi is plagued by high unemployment, high alcoholism rates, large numbers of people infected with HIV, and high crime rates.

This beautiful hand-made jewelry is made by single mothers who do not have other means of supporting themselves and their children. All money from the purchase of this jewelry goes directly to these women.

This is a great way to raise money for your youth group, missions group, or your church. It is also a great way for your church to support missions abroad.
