Begin praying also, that a well balanced team will form and that many resources will become available to help the people God directs us to. Trips to Brazil, Belfast, the U.K., and Korea are also being scheduled for spring and summer. As always, when I'm not in the air or on foreign soil, I'm with my family working in the yard, or writing the book. I've decided to entitle it "The Father Jesus Knows" and have just reached the halfway mark. Enclosed, find Chapter 2. Please pray for Patti in this regard, as it is her responsibility to polish my writing and make my thoughts more readable. She wants your prayers.
There is a level of effectiveness that we cannot reach unless or until others pray. Paul says, in II Cor 1:10-11, "On Christ we set our hope that he will continue to deliver us as you help us by your prayers." Thank you for praying for Good News to the Poor. Thank you for praying for me and my family. Thank you for helping us with financial support.
I return from Africa in mid-February. If you are interested in being a part of the return ministry team, start praying and let me know so we can pray with you.
Peace and all good,
Ken
Into the New Year
Dear Friends,
Seven months have passed since we closed the doors of Foothills Church and launched Good News to the Poor. It was a risk when we did it and though we've successfully hit the target in numerous countries around the world, that orginal element of risk has become part of my daily landscape. As I reflect on this past year and look forward to the one ahead, I can't help coming to the conclusion that my growth requires the surrender of security. Life shrinks or expands in proportion to the risks I take. I can certainly measure an increase in my own personal growth and we are all aware of having walked into a bigger life. My experience of prayer has intensified. Trusting in the goodness of God has increased. And dependence on the Body of Christ has produced deep gratitude for saints like you.
I have been to the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, the U.K., Eastern Europe, Canada, and various locations througout the U.S. Later this month, I will teach in England, Kenya, and South Africa. During this trip, I will be making arrangements for a return ministry and mercy outreach in the summer. Please pray that our future involvement in Africa will become clear and that all arrangements will come together efficiently.
