In a few days, I am off to Brazil and Nicaragua to do more of the same. When I return, in a few weeks, I imediately make plans to go to Albania on a teaching mission. Up until 12 years ago, Albania was totally sealed off to outsiders. The extreme totalitarian rule there completely erased any trace of Christianity. Twelve years ago, the Communist rule in Easter Europe collapsed and Albania opened up. The church is only 12 years old. No Christian or Church leader there has known Jesus for more than 12 years.
The opportunity to go to Albania now, means that we get to come in on the ground floor with grace and healing. We get to help set the theological foundation for an entire nation. Just think of it!
What an extraordinary adventure lies ahead.

Gratitude is a powerful motivator for me. My life as a follower of Jesus, is largely energized by gratitude. When God saved me 35 years ago, I did not lean on him as a crutch (as we are sometimes accused of doing), but rather, fell on Him as a stretcher. I didn't need a little help -- I needed to be rescued. I have never gotten over it.
After all these years, it is still gratitude that drives me to do things that I think might please Him. My attempts have often been clumsy and have taken me to some interesting places. I've served as a missionary in Easter Europe, planted churches and started missions in the U.S. and Canada. I have written books and conducted conferences around the world.
A year ago, with your help, we launched Good News to the Poor. And that is the reason for this letter. Thank you. I've been able to preach grace and teach healing, mostly to the poor in Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Romania, Mexico, and the U.K., Kenya and South Africa. I have also conducted 12 conferences in the U.S. and Canada.
