One of the Asians who attended the recent events is a Filipino named Glorioso. He traveled with me to all three training schools I conducted and transcribed 30 of my teaching tapes when he wasn't in class. He is now back in Manila working to get the gospel of grace into the various churches that he provides leadership for. He is in a very legalistic and abusive environment. Please pray for him.

The following comments are offered by some of the church leaders who attended the Australian schools:

"So what happens to a church when Ken has visited? Do people run riot in their newly found freedom? Does the grace teaching change anything? For some, grace meant allowing God to undo years of religious conditioning. For others, it meant increased intimacy with the Father. Corporately, we enjoyed a new liberty and a joy in worship. Thanks Ken and all who partner with you in the Gospel." -Chris McRae, pastor, Medowie Baptist Church. NSW, Australia

"Ken's teaching on grace has prompted personal trnasformation for many Christians. God has used Ken in a profound way to help churches become churches of grace, liberated, powerful and released into joyful freedom. We actually changed our Church's name in response to this teaching." - Greg Beech, pastor, Grace Point Church, Sydney, Australia

"My wife and I sat under Ken's teaching for an entire week. It took that long to destroy and rebuild my theology. It was a life changing encounter of the highest order. As a result, my church has undergone a complete renewal in every way. A word of warning . . .hearing Ken teach can be like having major surgery without the anesthetic. However, the cancerous tumors of false teaching and distorted views of God will be removed. Thanks Ken and those who support you." - Robert Griffith, pastor, Orange Baptist Church, NSW, Australia

Coming Up . . .
- Several conferences in the U.S. in January and February
- South Africa and Zambia in March
- Brazil in May

Peace and all good,
Ken

The New Year and
Time With My Family

All the Blues were home for the holidays this year: eight children, one daughter by marriage, one 15 month old grandson and two very happy elders. During the 3 weeks of festivities we ate, played, argued, prayed, wrestled, watched football, played football, sparred, shopped and built a carport. It was sheer joy having everyone together. It didn't matter what we did or even if we did anything at all, as long as we were together. I think it may have been the purest pleasure I have ever known.

God the Father is a family man like me. Jesus tells a story about a father who has two sons. One is a licentious rebel and the other, a religious legalist. The father loves them both and wants both of them to come home. This is the Father that Jesus knows. One way of understanding Good News to the Poor is that its mision is to call the prodigal poor and the theologically poor home. The thought that we can bring joy to the Father by guiding His lost kids home thrills me. Thank you for helping me do my part in this work.

Down Under . . .

The end of 2002 saw me conducting training schools in and around Sydney, Australia. Attending were Australian church leaders and Christian workers from S.E. Asia. The S.E. Asia connection is the result of effective evangelization carried on by the Australian churches that I've been working with for the past 15 years. They evanglize Asian students when they come for a western university education. After four years of university and Christian training, they return to Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. to a job and a mission. The Australian churches that converted and discipled them continue to support them as they plant chuches and establish missions. Good News to the Poor supports all of this through my teaching, training and mentoring.
