You can't plan these connections. They just seem to happen. A publishing house in Brazil is coming out with translations of my books in Portuguese. The have asked me to come down in August - September to help introduce them via pastor's conferences and radio programs.
This summer, Patti and four of our children will represent Good News To The Poor in Thailand. They will be working in orphanages, churches, and refugee camps. They will also attend a traditional Karin Hill Tribe wedding. Patti will function as mother of the groom for Sean, who is one of our extended family members. He works in an orphanage in Chiang Mai and is proud of Ana (13), who earned money for her ticket by painting fences, babysitting, and doing yard work. I will stay home this time with our two youngest boys and hopefully make headway on some writing.
In addition to Brazil, other upcoming trips include India, Turkey, and Tonga.
Thank you again for your support.
Peace and all good,
Ken
Back from Down Under...
I recently returned from Australia where I renewed my fellowship with pastors and missionaries I have been working with for almost two decades. The longterm fruit of these rerlationships is proving to be good. I was repeatedly thanked for helping move them from legalism to grace and from fundamentalism to a more Spirit empowered form of ministry. As they thanked me, they were thanking you as well. Through your support, we are able to help people you will never meet in this life. Thank you.
In addition to church and mission conferences, I also taught at colleges and trained missionaries who are serving in Southeast Asia.
The books I have written are an aspect of my work that I don't often mention in these newsletters. They are translated into over 20 languages and reach many people aroung the world. In addition to the major languages, they are also translated into more exotic tongues - Turkish, Russian, Bulgarian, and Chinese, to name a few.
Prior to Australia, I was in India training pastors and missionaries. A pastor from Nepal was with us for a week of meetings and decided that my book on spiritual abuse was needed in his country for the political class as well as the church. In asking us for permission to translate, he wrote:
"Dr. Blue's book is the best key to reform our leader's view of leadership. After sharing his teaching with others in Nepal, they asked me to translate it into our language. It is the only book of its kind we know of and will make a difference here."
