I taught at a seminary near Nadi Town. The students came from all around the South Seas – Tonga, The Cook Islands, New Zealand, etc. I taught conferences in numerous places. Levi and Alex assisted in the ministry and grew in spiritual stature in the process.
We spent time in the Sydney area, on the East Coast of Australia. I conducted a pastor’s retreat and taught two other conferences, but it wasn’t all work while we were there. Some friends took us to the Great Barrier Reef, where we snorkeled and caught fish.
My next planned mission trip will be later this year, to New Guinea. Future trips to India, Turkey and China are in the works.
Not everything I do happens at the end of a long plane ride or in exotic sounding places. There are still speaking engagements in the US and Canada. I am currently writing 30 lectures for a seminary class I will teach at Ashland Seminary in Ohio. This, along with two conferences, will take place in October.
The Juice Plus+ supplements I have taken to India over the past several years are helping pregnant women and their babies. The babies are born bigger and healthier than the norm. Childhood blindness, due to vitamin A deficiency, is a big problem in the Third World. Juice Plus totally prevents this. Therefore, I ship thousands of dollars worth of Juice Plus+ to India throughout the year. If you are interested in Juice Plus for yourself, go to Kenbluejuice.com. If you want to donate it to the work in India, talk to me.
Thank you so much for helping us help God’s children around the world. They say thanks too.
Peace and all good,
Ken
Fiji & Australia 2007
Before I report on our recent mission trip to Fiji and Australia, let me update you on Patti’s last Thailand letter. As you may remember, she came home with a desire to adopt Michael, a little black Thai boy she met there.
We appreciate the interest you have shown regarding Michael and hope you will continue praying for him. We made the decision to ‘virtually’ adopt him. That is to say, he will live with the Hintz family in Thailand and we will pay his way. We have deposited $7,000 into a trust fund for his future and are taking care of his daily expenses on a monthly basis.
The Hintz’s are a wonderful family. He is a dairy farmer from Missouri and she is a Karen woman from Thailand. They have two children of their own and in true Christian form, have opened their home to two orphans (Michael being one of them) and one widow and her 4 children. It is an honor to partner with them in this way.
Our adopted son, Sean, lives close by and the traveling Blues will see Michael as he grows. Patti, of course, dreams of the day he can come to Auntie Patti’s house. In the meantime, he is loved and well provided for.
I took Alex (12) and Levi (15) to Fiji and Australia. As I mentioned in my last Fiji report, the big island is not the vacation destination of the holiday brochures. It is mostly poor and rural. The main crop is sugar cane. The population is evenly divided between Native Islanders and East Indians. This has created political instability. There have been six coups over the past several years and the government was, again, overthrown shortly before we arrived. Police were everywhere and we had to pass through numerous checkpoints as we drove from one mission event to the next.
